Business Consulting FAQ

Straight answers to the questions prospective clients ask most often.

Common questions about working with us

Most projects fall between £8,000 and £45,000. A short two-week diagnostic sits at the lower end. A full growth-strategy engagement with implementation support runs higher. We quote a fixed fee after the discovery call so you know the total cost before signing anything. There are no hourly surprises.

Our average is 14 weeks. A focused diagnostic can wrap up in two or three weeks. Larger restructuring projects that involve organisational change, new systems selection and team training tend to run 16 to 20 weeks. We agree the timeline upfront and flag any risk of overrun as early as possible.

Yes. Our clients range from 10-person owner-managed firms to companies with around 500 employees. The sweet spot is businesses turning over between £2m and £50m. Below £2m, our fees can be hard to justify against the potential savings. Above £50m, the challenges often require a larger team than we field.

We have deep experience in logistics, manufacturing, professional services and healthcare. We have also completed projects in retail, hospitality and construction. If your industry is outside those areas, we are happy to discuss whether our methods apply. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes it is not, and we will be upfront about it.

It is a 30-minute video or phone call. We ask about your business, what is working, what is not, and what outcome you are hoping for. You ask us whatever you like. There is no obligation and no sales pitch. If we think we can help, we follow up with a written scope and fee proposal within five working days.

Absolutely. We regularly collaborate with in-house finance teams, external accountants and legal advisers. Clear role boundaries matter, so we define who owns what at the start of every engagement. Duplication wastes your money, and we avoid it.

We do, but only after an initial project. A retainer makes sense when you need a few hours of strategic input each month rather than a full engagement. Current retainer clients pay between £1,500 and £4,000 per month depending on the level of involvement. Either side can end the arrangement with 30 days notice.

About 60% of our contracts include a performance-linked fee component. That means a portion of our payment depends on hitting agreed KPIs. If those KPIs are not met, we earn less. We also offer a satisfaction review at the midpoint of every engagement. If you feel the project is off track, we adjust the plan or, in rare cases, wind down early and refund the unused portion of the fee.

Our office is at 6 Rafael Side, Lower Kuvalis Place, England, AV9 1QI, United Kingdom. Most of our work happens on-site at the client's premises or via video calls. We travel anywhere in England and have worked with clients in Scotland and Wales on occasion.

How an engagement typically unfolds

1. Discovery call

A 30-minute conversation to understand your situation. No charge, no commitment. We listen, ask questions, and decide together whether there is a fit.

2. Diagnostic phase

We spend two weeks inside your business: reviewing financials, interviewing key staff, and mapping processes. At the end you receive a written diagnostic report with prioritised recommendations.

3. Strategy and planning

We build a detailed action plan with timelines, responsibilities and measurable targets. You approve the plan before any implementation work begins.

4. Implementation support

We stay involved during execution. That might mean attending weekly leadership meetings, coaching managers through changes, or helping select and onboard new software. We leave when you can run the new processes without us.
